Graduate Degrees with The Institute of Authentic Tantra Education

Ubiquity University is partnering with The Institute of Authentic Tantra Education to offer students an opportunity to upgrade their coursework to Doctoral or Master’s Degrees in Authentic Tantra.

Transformation creates a shift in perspective.

Through the ancient lineage-based practices of Tibetan Five Element Tantra, we come to understand that the body is Buddha, that human sexuality is sacred and, when practiced with awareness, compassion and loving kindness, can transform our relationship to ourselves, to the divine, and to each other.

Ubiquity University, in partnership with the Institute of Authentic Tantra Education (IATE) is delighted to offer Graduate Degrees in Authentic Tantra. This program will allow students to study with the world’s only accredited school for tantric healing, with teachings that are rooted in the Shangpa Kagyu Tradition of tantra, and committed to the decolonization of Tantra education in the west.

We recommend that your program begins with Ubiquity’s Creative Journey to Dissertation course, which will give you the tools to shape, and eventually write, your thesis or dissertation. You will then continue your studies in Authentic Tantra with IATE, and return again to Ubiquity for the higher education credential.

About the Institute of Authentic Tantra Education

The Institute of Authentic Tantra Education is the first and only government-accredited professional training institute using the Tibetan Five Element Tantric practices for holistic sexual healing. They are also the ONLY Tantra training Institute in the Western world that provides students with a pathway to obtaining a Master’s Degree and/or Ph.D. in authentic, lineage-based Tantra from a globally-accredited university.

The Institute provides a secular approach to the implementation of authentic, lineage-based, Tantric healing methods designed to awaken, heal and integrate body, mind, spirit, and sex.

The Tantric methods presented by IATE are rooted in the Tibetan Five Element Tantric teachings, which are ancient shamanistic techniques from the Tibetan and Bon traditions, designed to balance, enrich and heal the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual body – from inside out. These lineage-based healing methods are combined with cutting-edge somatic science and Taoist sexual yoga methods to provide a comprehensive and holistic approach to sexuality, healing, and using “pleasure as medicine”.

In keeping with their mission to decolonize Tantra Education in the West, their epistemological framework draws upon the insights of Tibetan Vajrayana Tantra as expressed in the Shangpa Kagyu lineage, and Afrocentric feminist epistemology as presented by Patricia Hill Collins, which prioritize the embodiment and practical application of knowledge gained from educational pursuits.

The Ubiquity Graduate Degree

The Ubiquity MA and PhD degrees combine the US and European designs of a graduate program with a blend of taught learning with research and writing. The thesis/dissertation must demonstrate excellence at every level. It must show awareness of the history of the literature in your particular area; demonstrate careful analysis and understanding of the field in question; and, most importantly, show how your insight can be applied to the real world. The thesis/dissertation must be scholarly and utilize extensive bibliographical data and footnotes. It should, in other words, be an impeccable work of research.

The “Creative Journey to Dissertation” is a 1-week intensive designed by our Dean of Graduate Studies Dr. Gyorgyi Szabo. The course is a critical part of the dissertation writing process and is a requirement for all MA candidates.

Sequieta Whitfield

I don’t know about you, but I spent a lot of my life looking for love in all- and I mean all- the wrong places, like sex, drugs, rock and roll, self-help books and various religions. There was a hole in my soul I was always looking to fill, usually unsuccessfully.

In November of 1987 I found relief in 12 step recovery programs and discovered there is a Power greater than myself that helped to fill the hole most of the time. But something was still missing…I was looking for permission and a way to integrate spirituality and sexuality unapologetically.

Many years later I attended a sacred sexuality retreat where I met my now mentor Devi Ward Erikson, Founder and Owner of the Institute of Authentic Tantra Education®, who presented a snippet of Authentic Tantra® to the retreat attendees, and my mind was forever blown. Devi introduced us to the Tibetan 5 Element Sexual Healing modality that blends mind, body, spirit and sex, spiritually and sexually through lineage-based practices, and I knew I was finally home.

My gift is the ability to help you connect with that place within you where no harm has ever come…your Infinite Self.

I have great success with those individuals who want to transform, heal and grow into the spiritual and fully sexual being they were meant to be. Come on home to yourself.

My specialties include working with those who have experienced: sexual abuse/trauma, those looking to explore sexuality, and those with disabilities and mental health. I enjoy spreading awareness in sexual education, helping to restore pleasure & sensation, & bringing focus & awareness back to the body.

Laurie McCracken

As a former nun, oncology nurse, holistic health coach and energy medicine practitioner, I never imagined I would become a Certified Authentic Tantra® Practitioner and Sexologist! However, it’s a perfect fit!!

I am passionate about raising pleasure consciousness in the world: about supporting the healing and transformation needed to re-unite our sexuality with our spirituality. I know personally the emotional, physical, and mental trauma this “disconnect” can create in one’s life.

I am also deeply committed to cultivating a living embodied anti-racist culture. For me that means honoring each other’s humanity and lived experience with authenticity, tenderness, and truthful care.

If any of this resonates with you, I look very forward to connecting!
