TMITP with its twin class Foundation of Integral Transpersonal Psychology which represents the first step, are capstone courses of the Bachelor in Integral Transpersonal Psychology. These two classes will offer the basis to build up during the curriculum of studies a strong and complete knowledge toward a psychology of the future, both Integral and Transpersonal.

TPITP is designed for young people in the spirit of feeling and knowing that they come from far away and have a present and a future as protagonists, innovators, and creatives. They can be vanguards of a new culture of sharing that can transcend and include the dualisms, as well as the differences and conflicts of the larger system that includes them.

A FURTHER MODE

The separation between theory and practice, between mind and body, between action and feeling, between male and female, between past and future, between matter and consciousness, traditional and scientific, academic and experiential is overcome in a transformative teaching methodology, a further mode that teaches how to make the two one.

This Program will follow Ubiquity-style teaching methodology: along with reading texts, there will also be learning technologies for the mastery of inner experience, the management of emotions and their states of consciousness, enhancing interpersonal relationships, and practical application projects in real life.

Class Attendance/Posting Requirements

Students are also expected to participate in all required discussions, and to keep up with the weekly readings, assignments, video and online postings – 2 post per week.

Course Aims and How They Relate to the Learning Objectives [*]

At a theoretical level student will know:

  • Post-conventional thinking coming from the new paradigm,
  • The story of Integral and Transpersonal Psychology
  • The vision of James, Jung and Wilber
  • The basis of Psychosynthesis of Roberto Assagioli of Biotransenergetics a new integral transpersonal methodology.
  • The of Grof theory and practice
  • The basis of Mindell theory and practice
  • How to practice Integral Transpersonal Thinking

At the Integral level student could experiment the Transe learning: A teaching method that wants to create the conditions for the Insight, the understanding of the new order that Bohm and the wisdom traditions of humanity, considered the only true knowledge. Knowledge that takes place in the entirety of the body, in its cells as well as in the emotions and mind. A learning which is achieved through mastery of felt sense experiences: awareness of proprioceptive, kinesthetic, and visceral signals, the ability to go through the wounds: emotional personal history, empathic identification, experiences archetypal order, elemental, unconscious, symbolic, imaginal process, and Psychic experiences.

Evidence and Criteria for Evaluation

Students are expected to participate in this online class by

(a) posting succinct responses to course assignments,

(b) reading assigned readings,

(c) practicing the suggested inner work and posting a brief feedback (organismic constellation).

Evaluation will be based on three criteria:

(1) the quality of the student’s participation in the discussions and responsiveness with the other students;

(2) the extent of the exploration and mastery of the course materials, the course topic and the inner experience feedback; and

(3) the final paper which will be evaluated with the Sofia University Writing Criteria Evaluation Rubric.

Instructional Mode and Methods

This course will combine:

  • Direct instruction through pre-recorded video lectures,
  • Indirect instruction through the provision of suggested learning materials related to the learning outcomes and guidance in finding and sharing other relevant materials,
  • Independent study through essays, reports and journaling,
  • Interactive instruction through facilitated and peer-to-peer discussion forums,
  • Transformational practices.

Assignments

Each week, students write a 300-350 word essay on that week’s assigned readings.
Each week, students respond to an experiential exercise which invites them to engage with an experiential aspect of the human experiences and development, post a 200-250 word feedback, and do research on it.
Each week students will participate in interactive instruction through facilitated and peer-to-peer discussion forums.

There will be a Creative Assignment:

Student could choose among a final paper or a video
