Our western health dilemma continues to perpetuate fragmentation of the mind-body relationship

As our western health dilemma continues to perpetuate fragmentation of the mind-body relationship, there has never been a better time to study and practice Ayurveda. This sister science to yoga, a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary system, has been used for thousands of years to harmonize health and vitality on an individual, collective and environmental level.

Ubiquity University, in partnership with The Dancing Shiva School of Ayurveda and Yoga, is delighted to offer this graduate program. We recommend that you begin your program with Ubiquity’s Creative Journey to Dissertation course, which will give you the tools to shape, and eventually write, your thesis or dissertation. You’ll then complete your core program with Dancing Shiva, and return to Ubiquity for the higher education elements of the program.

There are two routes to the higher education credential: The Ayurveda Counselor Program Certification (600 hours) and the Ayurveda and Yoga Certification (250 hours). Those who complete the former will be eligible for higher degrees in Integral Ayurveda while those who have completed the latter will be eligible to pursue higher degrees in Ayurveda and Yoga.

Ayurveda Counseling Certification

(600 hrs)

Students who have enrolled in or completed Dancing Shiva’s 600 hour Ayurveda Counseling Program (ACP) Certification will be eligible to pursue graduate degrees in Integral Ayurveda.

Based on the pioneering work of Dancing Shiva Founder Mas Vidal, this course provides education on the core principles of Ayurveda, consistent with the standards taught in the first two years at Ayurvedic Universities across India. The scope of the program is broad because the curriculum includes wisdom from Ayurveda and its sister sciences, Yoga, Jyotish (Vedic astrology), Vaastu (original Feng Shui) and Vedanta, the premier philosophy of India’s spiritual heritage.

The program supports lifestyle enhancement through improvement of one’s own mind-body relationship. Students and participants are encouraged to apply disciplines related to Ayurvedic daily and seasonal routines, along with a strong emphasis on positive psychology as per the Yoga and Vedanta teachings.

The ACP provides a well-rounded educational experience in Ayurveda’s fundamental principles that embraces counseling, therapeutics, herbology, diet, lifestyle, and an introduction to Ayurveda’s clinical application as per classes and internship at India’s eminent Ayurvedic University, D.Y. Patil University (DPU).

The program also includes a 15-day intensive that takes place at our affiliate Institutes in Pune, India.

Those who complete the 600 hour Ayurveda Counselor Program (ACP) offered by the Dancing Shiva School will be able to counsel clients towards a life of health and wellness, namely to:

Ayurveda and Yoga Certification

(250 hrs)

Students who have enrolled in or completed the 250 hour Yoga and Ayurveda Certification will be eligible for graduate degrees in Yoga and Ayurveda.

This special 250 hour program provides a comprehensive education through a well-balanced yoga practice and Ayurvedic lifestyle and strongly adheres to an experiential approach to learning.

Philosophical teaching is typically demonstrated through exercises and rituals, drawn from The Dancing Shiva School of Ayurveda and Yoga faculty’s many years of experience. Each day is equally divided into yoga asana practicum and wisdom lectures as well as daily group meditations. Students learn to practice yoga and create a lifestyle according to what is best for their dosha type (body-mind constitution).

One of the most important themes of the program is based on the principle of individuality. By learning to adapt to a lifestyle routine and yoga practice that is unique to your specific needs or mind-body type, it encourages the student to be creative and dynamic as they develop naturally into a teacher.

The course also serves to prepare a person how to teach others. You will learn not just asana (postures), but an integral approach to yoga that includes other components such as breath-work, mantra and meditation and knowledge of Ayurvedic principles. This program provides for a truly holistic approach to teaching or becoming a yoga and Ayurveda wellness counselor.

The program is offered on an annual basis in southern California and other affiliate locations in USA, Mexico, and Asia.

Those who complete this Ayurveda and Yoga certification will:
